Currently in the UK 1 out of 4 women lose a baby during pregnancy or birth; in response to this statistic the Tommy’s charity was established last year. Through the Tommy’s organization medical research into the causes of premature birth, stillbirth and miscarriage are funded. An informational service is also provided to educate parents about health in pregnancy.

Now in progress is Tommy’s New for Old campaign which asks people to drop off old shoes they no longer want to Brantano stores. Each pair of old shoes donated— no matter their condition, Brantano will give 10p to Tommy’s to help babies in the UK. Also, for every pair of shoes donated the contributors will receive a £10 off voucher when they spend £50 or more, plus the old shoes collected go to help African communities.
