Burberry Shines as London Fashion Week comes to an end

If the atmosphere outside the huge Burberry tent (which was specifically built for this fifteen minutes show) was not enough to convince anyone that this was it, then perhaps Gwyneth Paltrow, Victoria Beckham, Liv Tyler, Mary-Kate Olsen and Frieda Pinto getting papped outside would have. Christopher Bailey brought Burberry back to London in celebration of LFW 25th anniversary, and then somehow managed to steal all of the attention to become the most memorable show this week.

Models walked down this very long runway wearing huge metallic platforms and chunky leather strapped to their ankles.  The Burberry Trench which we have all come to love, never looked so glamorous, as it has been freshly transformed into a dress hybrid. Spotting tulle draping, huge shoulders and various twists at the back has now pushed this coat into first place on our must-have list. With hemlines a distance from the knees, you get the sense of a young appeal which grown ups can also wear. A romantic but edgy collection as colours were in the palest of grey, mint, pink and lilac. Cocktail dresses and skirts in twists and tulle draping designed to sculpt the body in a soft manner. Spotted shinny and metallic leggings, draped leggings and gorgeous fur coats. The iconic buckled belts were apparent on almost every dress with chunky bangles beckoning for your attention. And as confetti rained down at the end of the show, it was impossible to miss that stunning silver sequined jacket shimmering down the runway. This I predict will break more than a few people’s bank come spring. Here are a selection of images but if you like to see some more, then check it out via the  Burberry website.
