Sofia Vergara in Louis Vuitton Fall 2010
By Faith
Marc Jacobs’ Fall 2010 Collection for Louis Vuitton was all about classic beauty and curves and no one embodies that idea more than Sofia Vergara. At the Opening of Louis Vuitton Santa Monica to Benefit Heal the Bay, she chose an elegant navy dress from the collection that was understated, yet completely sensual at the same time.
This toned down look is not one often seen on Vergara as she usually opts for shorter hemlines and more body conscious silhouettes. In despite of the dress’ calf-length, she still looks absolutely stunning which shows women that being sexy doesn’t have to be blatant. The subtle accessories of black pumps and a gold clutch finish the look.

Tweet this Giveaway | Marc Jacobs Bang, Bang, Bang Me Baby
By Lauren

An iconic fashion defines a decade or a generation with its look. And while it’s nearly impossible to declare a contemporary fashion or designer “iconic” while it’s still in style, if I had to make a guess as to who history will look back on to define the early 21st Century, it has to be Marc Jacobs.
Jacobs is already something of a modern icon. Though the grunge movement had its first stirrings in Seattle in the late 1980s when bands like Nirvana, Pearl Jam, and Soundgarden started cropping up on Sub Pop records, it was Marc Jacobs who grabbed the grunge look by its greasy hair and flannel and sent it down Perry Ellis’ runway in 1992. Yes, my fashion history fledglings, your beloved oh-so-chic-and-pulled-together Marc Jacobs was responsible for sending supermodels stomping down the catwalk in Doc Martins and stocking caps.
Fast forward nearly 20 years and Jacobs has cleaned up his act a bit. His 2010 Marc Jacobs collection is tailored and structured, but doesn’t lose its signature Marc Jacobs quirk. And some of Jacobs’ contemporary pieces are already reaching icon status, especially in his fragrance line. Remember how unique Marc Jacobs “Daisy” smelled when it hit the market in 2007? Now you can catch a whiff of the modern classic on everyone and their sister, and the signature plastic floral bottle is displayed right alongside Chanel No. 5.
Now, Jacobs is making waves in the fragrance world again, this time with his first men’s fragrance in more than ten years, Bang (Play the FACEBOOK GAME). Bang comes in a metallic silver bottle with an impact mark in the center. And like Daisy, Bang has a unique scent with head notes of black, pink, and white peppercorn, woodsy and masculine heart notes, and vetyver, white moss, and patchouli base notes.
Bang is available on July 30th exclusively at Bloomingdales and Marc Jacobs stores. The new must-have for men, POSHGLAM is giving away a bottle of Bang to one lucky reader! Just tweet this Giveaway @POSHGLAM for your chance to win Bang.
Email your name, number and a snapshot of you and the man in your life to: Lauren@POSHGLAM.com with “Bang Me Baby” in the subject.

Marc Jacobs Takes You To A Parisian Patisserie
By Samantha
Marc Jacobs seems to always have something up his sleeve, taking his audience on crazy adventures. While his clothing is always very inventive and funky, his fragrances are at the top of their game as well. His latest collection, Marc Jacobs Splash, takes the wearer on a journey to a decadent Parisian patisserie, where they can indulge on macarons to their heart’s content. Their are three limited edition scents which are perfect for springtime, igniting the senses with a light and sensual aroma.
The three scents include Apple, Biscotti and Pomegranate. Being partial to pomegranates, I had to try the scent, which was fantastic. It wasn’t overly powerful, and gave me a sweet scent all day long that left a smile even on my face. The scent of pomegranate is definitely present alongside Mandarin Flowers, Bergamot, Rhubarb and Sugared Musk. this vibrant fragrance also exudes Mandarin Flowers, Bergamot, Rhubarb and Sugared Musk. The pink hue is girly and the scent is perfect for a weekend date.
The Apple fragrance is energizing and stimulating, and encompasses the more shocking tartness of the apple. The scent includes lemon, grapefruit, Rosemary, Jasmin and Magnolia, with a green tint that is earthy yet instantly chic.
Lastly, we have Biscotto, and who doesn’t love those little cookies. This scent is savory and ideal for a night out with your special someone, as you will have them reeling in your sweetness. With additions of Freesia, Bergamot, Orange Flower, Pistachio and Vanilla, this scent is rich, and the gold hue only adds to this vibe.
Each perfume is packaged in a luxe glass bottle, that is strong and stunning. The Splash Collection retails for $68 each and is available March 2010 at Saks, Sephora, Bloomingdales, Nordstrom and March Jacobs Boutiques. Mmmm…

Marc Jacobs Fall 2010
By Jessica
The theatrics were at an all time high at the Marc Jacobs fall 2010 show. It started with Marc Jacobs and Robert Duffy walking around the room tearing down construction paper to reveal the collection. Waiting behind those brown paper curtains, however, was the most shocking element of all: fifty-six models were standing stock still in clothes of the simplest form. Yes, Marc Jacobs, the elaborate, cutting-edge designer has embraced elegant minimalism for Fall.
With “Somewhere over the rainbow” blasting in the background, the models took the runway one simple profile at a time. The colour palette stayed true to the Marc Jacobs aesthetic: neutrals, pastels and an occasional glint of metal. The fabrics—wool, cashmere, velvet, cotton and fur trim—were quintessential Marc Jacobs as well. In style and presentation, the collection could have been any one of his previous, signature shows. However, a closer look revealed the show was anything but similar. In an industry where change is the only constant and fresh is never fresh enough, Marc Jacobs Fall 2010 gave editors and buyers something to think about with its absolute simplicity and lack of unnecessary ‘innovation.’ “There’s so much striving for newness now that newness feels less new.” said Jacobs after the show. (Style.com)
There, we have it. Marc presented a collection of A-line skirts, sequined sweaters, oversized coats, three-piece suits and calf-length dresses, all very fuss-free and dare I say, conservative. Nevertheless, there is no denying of his genius; velvet has never looked more alluring and the clear plastic trench is a stunning statement piece.
With the new hemline standards set here, footwear came in the form of block-heeled pumps worn with ankle socks or tie-up boots. Handbags came in a vast assortment, from envelope clutches to satchels and more.
The beauty look, like the silhouettes, was understated and clean with little hints of mascara and a slightly tinted pout. Hair lengths were defined along with the hem lengths; four inches below the collar bone is how it goes at Marc Jacobs.
