Style Stalking: #CoachellaLive Celebrity Style Recap

coachellagood 1024x637 Style Stalking: #CoachellaLive Celebrity Style Recap The mornings were blazing hot, the nights were shivering cold, but the celeb style at Coachella was just plain cool. With the lingering nostalgia of the spring music festival still in the air, POSHGLAM brings you a recap of the Coachella celebrity style radar. Most of these stars nailed the Coachella look, while others failed it.

Victoria’s Secret angel Alessandra Ambrosio looked casually gorgeous wearing a creme Rebecca Taylor sundress with brown boots. She accessorized with her arm candy, Jamie Mazur and cooled off with O.N.E. Coconut Water.

Katy Perry looked like an elephant hippie princess (remember Barbar?) in her ankle-length Dolce & Gabbana lace sundress with polka dot headdress tied in a bow. She matched the look with a yellow crossbody hobo and gold gladiator sandals. Such a flawless look.

The queen of boho-chic, Nicole Richie, attended the Mulberry party at Coachella wearing Mulberry Annie Blouse in Pumpkin Feathered Friends with denim shorts and the Heritage Bayswater Satchel in Pheasant Green.

Kirsten Dunst attended the Lacoste L!ve Pool Party on the last day of Coachella wearing Ray Ban sunglasses, a casual black blouse and denim shorts. As usual, Dunst looked plain, but we love her Ralph Lauren Collection calfskin crossbody bag in tan. She posed with Alexander Skarsgard, who attended the festival with his girlfriend Kate Bosworth. Dunst’s bag is a perfect catch all for all the music festival essentials, and is compact enough as to not get in the way.

Jessica Szohr looked not-so-gorgeous in an Express cropped jumpsuit, black hat and oversized MJ black handbag. OK, so the picture was snapped at an awful angle and she was the unsuspecting victim of the photographer, but she wore way too much black for a spring music festival. The jumpsuit is a nice jumpsuit, but Szohr should have added some color and prints to the mix. A colorful purse (Circa 2011) and hair accessory (i.e. pony tail holder) would have done the trick. A smaller bag would have lightened the look, she looks like she is trudging her carry-on through the airport. Is she missing a fingernail? One of her nails is white, while the rest are ruby red. Let’s try it again next year, Jessica.

Apparently Whit Port and Ken broke up, she typically looks adorable, however her Coachella getup, screams “IT’s OVER”. Whitney is usually classy, with “usually” and “classy” competing for the operative word. She wore a pair of Express floral shorts with a white top and oversized grey shirt tied on the side TOTALLY 80s style, all she needed was a neon scrunchie. She could have done without the grey shirt and uh, I just broke up with my beau attitude. It was a little too 90s and sloppy, it hung off her body, like she was courting anorexia and she paired it with olive boots. Expensive sandals would have added a high-class flirt to the otherwise uber feminine touch, or a pair of nude oxfords to upgrade the oh so cheap, chic.

This is only the start of music festival season, so hopefully those that were falling behind step up their game. Next stop: Bonnaroo.

REPORT Footwear Brings Stylish Comfort With Spring/Summer Collection

reportshoes 609x1023 REPORT Footwear Brings Stylish Comfort With Spring/Summer Collection

Style and comfort usually don’t go hand in hand. REPORT Footwear disagrees with the pain equals beauty stigma. The shoe brand focuses on cutting-edge designs that appeal to a wide range of women with quality, style, and yes, comfort.

Each season REPORT Footwear introduces casual and dressy styles using contemporary silhouettes and unique materials. A wide selection of pumps, flats, sandals and boots boast an architectural appeal that incorporate inspiration from art, music and the urban culture of the brand’s birthplace, Seattle. Being from Seattle doesn’t hinder the brand’s global presence, especially in the celebrity world. REPORT Footwear has been seen on stars such as Olivia Munn, Kim Kardashian, Vanessa Hudgens, Katy Perry, Mena Suvari and Keri Hilson. Khloe Kardashian, whose shoe closet made us gasp, also owns pairs from REPORT.

The REPORT brand has two lines: REPORT which offers trendy, functional styles for the modern girl, and REPORT Signature which offers sophisticated styles for the confident, stylish woman.

The Calyer style in brown is a standout in the Spring/Summer 2011 collection. The pump takes a fresh approach to the caged look, with a leather design that looks like bamboo or straw. The 5-inch heel and hidden platform are perfect for the vertically challenged.

The Ainslie wedge is the style you must have for spring. Available in black and tan, pair this shoe with wide leg trousers. For a dressier look, we’re loving the Parker3, a sparkly satin pump in nude or grey, studded to dazzle up your wardrobe. These shoes are versatile and can be worn with jeans, a skirt, shorts or a dress. To add some color to your shoe closet, try the Carle in red. This wooden heel platform is another versatile piece and the color is great for the sunny seasons. The Carle is also available in black and camel.

REPORT Footwear is available at major department stores, specialty boutiques and online. If you’re in the Washington area, visit REPORT Footwear’s first retail location which opened last summer. For more information or to shop the collection, visit www.reportshoes.com.

The stars pulled out all the stops at the 2011 People’s Choice Awards. The host of the show, Queen Latifah, started it off in a turquoise ombre chiffon gown from Georges Chakra’s Spring 2011 collection. She looked stunning and really made a big fashion statement for the night. Next up is everyone’s favorite, Leighton Meester, who rocked a grey dress with floral embroidery from Vionnet’s Spring 2011 collection. Definitely one of the most unique looks of the night and she accessorized with orange Cathy Waterman earrings and “Elle” heels from Brian Atwood.

Ashley Tisdale gave a bohemian chic look in a strapless printed gown from Farah Angsana’s Spring 2011 collection, while Emma Roberts went for all black in a ruffled minidress from the Spring 2011 collection from Christian Dior. She accessorized with 18k rose gold “Planetary” earrings from Carla Amorim, “Maniac” pumps from Brian Atwood and a black clutch from Miu Miu. Jennifer Aniston went for the menswear-inspired look that was so prevalent on the red carpet at the conclusion of 2010 with a black vest and pants from Dolce & Gabbana. Despite the fact that she is in all black again with her never-changing hairstyle, she looks great and the pieces are perfectly tailored to fit her lean physique.

There couldn’t be an awards show without Kim Kardashian being present and she was there in full force in a gold dress by Malandrino. She shortened the dress’ length as it has been previously worn by the designer herself as well as Mary J. Blige and Drew Barrymore. She accessorized with an 18K Gold Square Link Necklace from Rina Limor ($4500) and a Chanel clutch. Katy Perry went the opposite route and went for fun, fun and more fun in a turquoise and magenta gown from Betsey Johnson’s Spring 2011 collection. Her sky high pink Casadei pumps were the perfect accessories. Our favorite almost-vampire, Kristen Stewart, chose a dress from Reem Acra’s Spring 2011 collection: a form-fitting gold sequin number that showed off her legs. It wouldn’t have hurt her to try an updo or glam makeup, but I somehow feel that she’s taking the Johnny Depp approach and saying “Eff Hollywood”. Funny because even he put on a suit for the show.

Country songbird Taylor Swift chose a peach pleated dress from J.Mendel’s Spring 2011 collection. She accessorized with Gold Victorian Earrings with Diamonds from Amrapali and beige suede heels from Prada. “Pretty Little Liars” star Lucy Hale chose a mustard satin dress from Ronald Abdala and accessorized with champagne Swarovski Crystal Heels from Rene Caovilla. For jewelry she went Amrapali all the way: a 14k Gold Diamond Necklace, 14K Gold Diamond Drop Earrings and a Diamond Bangle.

Last, but not least are two celebrities who chose Paule Ka: Ashley Benson and Selena Gomez. Benson chose a one shoulder black and white printed cocktail dress from the Cruise 2011 collection, while Gomez rocked a one shoulder pink cocktail dress with ruffle detailing from the Spring 2011 collection. Both great choices and a sure sign of tons of Paule Ka on the red carpet to come.

Katy Perry in Baccarat

Katy Perry 1 Katy Perry in Baccarat

Not everything was red and green at Saturday’s Z100 Jingle Ball. Pop’s favorite sweetheart Katy Perry caught our eye in the H&M Artists Gift Lounge at Madison Square Garden, and not for her overly talked about cleavage but for a rock on her finger that had nothing to do with her new hubby. The Baccarat “Psydelic” Ring in Blue Scarabee ring is an entrancing, pseudo acid trip thing of beauty. It’s times like these when we spot a beautiful $895.00 ring right around Christmas time that we wish Santa really existed.

What we love most about Katy is that you can never call her style shy, she’s a quirky risk taker who isn’t afraid to flirt with her femininity. We’re not sure we’ll ever get used to calling her Mrs. Brand but Katy’s wicked style paired with her newlywed glow made this statement piece even more poignant, the contrasting hues of the ring enhanced and built up the hues and pattern of her geometric dress making them both pop without overpowering each other. As for Hubby Russell, it’s rare that a ring on a womans right hand will have us talking more than the one on her left, he’d better hope that’s not the case with the male population.
