Katy Perry in Christian Louboutin Panettone Bag

Kate Perry Christina Louboutin Handbag

When you’re constantly jet setting from city to city, attending presidential inaugurations one day and performing in a completely different continent the next, it’s easy to get swept up in the stress and forget you actually need to look good. Luckily for our eyes, Katy Perry doesn’t usually forget. The songstress, who we’re guessing was jetting home from a romantic and highly publicized weekend of canoodling with John Mayer in DC (and attending the Presidential Inauguration), arrived home in Los Angeles looking chic and put together. Ladies and gentlemen, when flying, the best way to insure you look good is head to toe black. Even though it might look a little somber, black is slimming so who cares. And Katy’s got that all black look down to a T. Black pants, black shirt, black coat, black boots, and gray hat. Yes, I said head to toe black but sometime a girl just needs a little gray.

But what really caught our eye wasn’t her funeral-ready but still chic outfit—it was her handbag. Christian Louboutin has been on point lately with his stylized and studded handbags, shoes, and accessories, so it’s no wonder that Katy was proudly carrying his Panettone handbag from the Spring/Summer 2013 Collection. Even though the description for this item says it’s a small black studded satchel bag, it most definitely is not. Large enough to fit all the essentials, from make-up to tablet (Louboutin clad as well, of course) to phone to wallet, this handbag is perfect not only for days spent on planes but also days spent frantically running around trying to get errands done. The spikes give it an 90s grunge-esque edge, making it the perfect way to either tone down an over the top outfit or add a little pizzazz to a plain old jeans and tee outfit.

Beyonce in Emilio Pucci, Katy Perry in Rodarte & Pucci’s New Ad Campaign

Beyonce Katy Perry Inauguration Rodarte Emilio Pucci

Monday morning’s inauguration festivities were not short on stars or style. From the performers to the guests, everyone was in their Monday best. Katy Perry, who attended the event with boyfriend John Mayer, looked subdued and artsy in Rodarte. The songstress, who performed at Saturday’s Kids’ Inaugural Concert, wore an orange and black striped coat and a matching dress underneath from the designers Fall/Winter 2012 collection. She topped off the outfit with black boots, black sunglasses, and a black fedora. Although the colors are typically Halloween-y, this outfit is most definitely not. It’s so good, in fact, that I’m almost positive Taylor Swift will soon write a song bashing it.

Beyonce, who performed the National Anthem for the occasion, wore a beautiful black velvet and chiffon beaded gown from Emilio Pucci’s Pre-Fall 2013 collection. Accompanied by the U.S. Marine Band, Beyonce blew the crowd (and TV veiwers worldwide) away with her voice and dazzled them with her dress, which she paired with emerald green (the color of the year) earrings. The chiffon cutouts gave the gown some added sexiness while the beading lent some glamorous sparkle. When not performing, she topped off the outfit with a luxurious black Dior fur coat and accessorized with her husband, Jay-Z (do I smell a best dressed couple competition?). If you want Beyonce’s look but don’t exactly have a Pucci budget, Maggy London has a beautiful take on the dress. Their version is shorter (mid-thigh) with three-quarter length sleeves, but at $158 it’s an unbeatable way to get Beyonce’s look for less.

Pucci Ad Campaign 2013In other Pucci news, the Italian design house has just released the ad campaign for their Spring/Summer 2013 collection. Set to debut in February, the campaign, which features Pucci girl Amber Velletta, showcases some of the most amazing pieces from the collection. Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott, who photographed the Fall campaign as well, shot the photos on location at the Villa D’Este in Rome. The background in the photos is so quintessentially Italian that it looks like it’s straight out of Romeo and Juliet. Complete with old fountains covered in moss, crumbling stone stairways, and lush greenery, it’s the perfect compliment to the classic sexiness that the line exudes. The only way you know you’re not in medieval Italy is because the clothes have a definitively modern look.

Amber Velletta, the star of the campaign, looks stunning in a white tunic worn over white pants with white shoes in one shot. In another, she leans against a pillar in a black long-sleeved mini dress, complete with a turtleneck collar, bell sleeves, and gold detailing. Lastly, she lounges next to a fountain wearing a floor length dress in black, white, and varying shades of pink. Her red lips, slicked back blonde hair, and flawless makeup add to her clearly natural beauty. The Revenge star was the model for the Fall 2012 campaign as well, and clearly she is everything that the Pucci girl represents: graceful, sensual, and beautiful.

Katy Perry in Baccarat

Katy Perry in Baccarat

Not everything was red and green at Saturday’s Z100 Jingle Ball. Pop’s favorite sweetheart Katy Perry caught our eye in the H&M Artists Gift Lounge at Madison Square Garden, and not for her overly talked about cleavage but for a rock on her finger that had nothing to do with her new hubby. The Baccarat “Psydelic” Ring in Blue Scarabee ring is an entrancing, pseudo acid trip thing of beauty. It’s times like these when we spot a beautiful $895.00 ring right around Christmas time that we wish Santa really existed.

Baccarat Ring

What we love most about Katy is that you can never call her style shy, she’s a quirky risk taker who isn’t afraid to flirt with her femininity. We’re not sure we’ll ever get used to calling her Mrs. Brand but Katy’s wicked style paired with her newlywed glow made this statement piece even more poignant, the contrasting hues of the ring enhanced and built up the hues and pattern of her geometric dress making them both pop without overpowering each other. As for Hubby Russell, it’s rare that a ring on a womans right hand will have us talking more than the one on her left, he’d better hope that’s not the case with the male population.

Style Stalking: Katy Perry’s Dazzling Jewelry at the Grammy Nominations Concert

Katy Perry shined at the Grammy Nominations Concert in Los Angeles where she performed and also racked up four nominations. She looked flawless in a gold off-the-shoulder sequin dress from Georges Chakra’s Fall 2010 Couture collection.

What really stole the show was her jewelry: 18K drop earrings with white and champagne diamonds from Rina Limor and a candy rosé bracelet in white gold with white diamonds and smoky and pink quartz from Brumani. Amazing pieces that match perfectly with her couture dress and really take the luxe quotient of her ensemble to the next level.

Rina Limor’s 18K Drop earrings retail for $3000 and Brumani’s Candy Rosé Bracelet for $9581. Visit and for purchase information.
