The over- hyped amalgamation of fashion and digitalism had been prevalent for a while with famous designers like Christopher Bailey and Sarah Burton using it. Recently, designer Tracy Reese opened up her Spring 2013 runway show with a digital movie playing alongside her show. The movie was played while the collection was displayed and showed mainly what the theme of the whole collection was. The designer known for making her RTW’s exude a retro influence alongside a pop of color, kept the same influence in mind when she framed the show. Her collection played with tribal prints on different pastel, blue and tangerine hues with strong and structured fabrics. The silhouettes were simple and minimalistic with her dresses, especially, echoing carefree style and bohemian trends.

The show had a star- studded front row with MTV The Hills’ star Lauren Conrad, 90210’s Shenae Grims , The Lucky One’s star Taylor Schilling, Odette Annabele from House MD, Fashion Police George Kotsiopoulos and a lot more. The major factor in the whole show was that the collection was quintessentially young. With the clothes and the guest list to even the hair and makeup of models, the collection portrayed a typical twenty-something Fashionista.

A CFDA member, Tracy Reese has always been remembered for her use of elaborate graphic prints, bright colors and a lot of influence of a current trend. This show also saw a lot of mashed up mix of graphic prints like leopard, lace and mesh. However, the main emphasis was kept on her versatility. With a strong introduction with bright hues, the collection flowed along bringing structured dresses, a mixture of prints, tulle and even a hint of green. The Mercedes Benz New York Fashion Week will occur from 6th to the 13th of September and Tracy Reese showed her collection on 9th September in The Studio at Lincoln Centre.
