Estee Lauder introduces a new line of gloss
By Lauren
Hilary Rhoda, the quintessential look of classic all-American beauty, has a new campaign for Estee Lauder. Having been the face of the company for almost four years, Hilary is now promoting Estee Lauder’s new Pure Color Lip Gloss Line.
The line comes in 34 colors and three different finishes—shine, shimmer, and sparkle. The shine finish gives a high-gloss look, shimmer uses cut pearls to provide a mirrored shine, and sparkle has a dramatic metallic finish. The gloss stands out using Estee Lauder’s True Vision Technology that wraps the pigments in a crystal-like coating which gives high shine and bold color. The new Pure Color Lip Gloss is easy to wear since it keeps lips hydrated with vitamins C and E, and the non-sticky formula makes it perfect for everyday wear.
In addition to the 34 shades Pure Color Lip Gloss, Estee Lauder Creative Makeup Director Tom Pecheux has a line of six limited edition colors in a neutral palate. This is Pecheux’s first line of lip gloss for Estee Lauder, and can be layered to build medium to full coverage. The colors come in a universal palate to flatter any skin tone.
The Pure Color Lip Gloss Line is now available at Estee Lauder counters and the Tom Pecheux line can be purchased exclusively at Nordstrom. Glosses from each line can be purchased for $18.

Estee Lauder Snags Smashbox
By Dyuti
Cosmetic bigwigs, The Estee Lauder Companies Ltd, released a public statement saying that they have added petite little Smashbox Beauty Ltd to their pretty bouquet of fancy make-up and skincare companies.
Smashbox Cosmetics, the photo studio-inspired brand which is a favourite with both make-up artists and mortals like us, has long been a go-to for all things beauty related. Founded in 1996 by the Factor brothers Dean and Davis (grandsons of make-up God Max Factor), the brand’s fan-following has been ever-expanding and this surely will work in Estee Lauder’s favour. In turn, Estee Lauder’s global reign would give Smashbox the kind of worldwide recognition it deserves so the tie-up would prove to be quite a symbiotic relationship; not very unlike that of sharks and suckerfish we’re guessing. The acquisition is supposed to close come July and from there-on it’s a win-win situation for both and life as we know it continues to go on for us albeit a tad beautifully.
With Clinique, M*A*C, Bobbi Brown, La Mer, Aveda and Ojon already in their nest, Estee lauder are quite the magpie and now they’ve gone and added Smashbox to their collection of shiny sparkly trinkets. Good news for those who love good news: the Factor brothers will still hold key positions and do what they do best, churn out great products for the brand…or so we hope.
