Anna Dello Russo Takes It Back to 2007 in Balenciaga

adr Anna Dello Russo Takes It Back to 2007 in BalenciagaAnna Dello Russo is one of the world’s favorite and most photographed editrices. She takes fashion risks which can only be matched by say an Anna Piaggi and she does it fearlessly. She’s worn everything from completely sheer dresses to a hat by Alan Journo featuring larger than life gold cherries, but when she reinterprets past runway looks it really is a treat.

She was seen striking a pose after Gucci’s Fall 2011 show in a multicolor jacket from Balenciaga’s Fall 2007 collection. She completed the look with cropped red skinnies, wedges from Prada and a pink clutch from Bottega Veneta.

An eye-popping look with pretty much every color of the rainbow. Only a few could make this look good or would even think of putting it together and ADR does it effortlessly. She is constantly calling on everyone (editors included) to have fun with fashion and take themselves less seriously, which is something the uptight fashion world is sometimes in need of. Some would even go as far as to call this vintage, but I don’t think four seasons qualifies just yet.

Cannot wait to see what other wacky ensembles she has prepared for Milan Fashion Week as well as for Paris Fashion Week.

Visit www.balenciaga.com for more information and see her look on the runway below.

Giambattista Valli Spring 2011

00350m2 200x300 Giambattista Valli Spring 2011Giambattista Valli knows how to make an impeccable dress and coat, without question. His Spring 2011 collection is full of them with interesting twists including leopard and orange, chiffon petals, feathers and so much more.

According to Valli, orange and yellow are the colors for Spring. He shows the shades on cropped jackets and trousers, colorblocked with beige on dresses, on a sheer tunic with chiffon petal embroidery (pictured to the right) and mixed with blush pink and grey on red carpet ready gowns.

Despite the color, white is all over the runway keeping things clean as well as extravagant with bushels of white feathers thrown onto designs. I bet Anna Dello Russo is wearing the petal coat at this very moment.

A fun and very Spring 2011 trend-appropriate print is leopard. Valli does some interesting things with it including using two different varieties of the leopard and colorblocking it on dresses with orange, silver lamé and white. Very chic, almost taking the bite out of the sometimes overwhelming print.

It looks like Giambattista Valli has done it again, showing pieces that fit seamlessly into any wardrobe and others that can give your walk-in closet a whole new spin altogether.

Zac Posen Spring 2011

00130m1 200x300 Zac Posen Spring 201100200m 200x300 Zac Posen Spring 2011

Zac Posen is officially in Paris. His contemporary Z Spoke line takes the helm in New York, while his signature line now finds its home in La Ville-Lumière.

Evening is what Spring 2011 is made of for Posen, with a collection of pieces that works best after-hours, or just fine during the day if you’re Anna Dello Russo. From its inception, feathers and body-conscious silhouettes are on display and when the dresses roll out, you start to see that Posen means business. Not the type of business that one conducts in offices of course.

00280m2 200x300 Zac Posen Spring 201100290m 200x300 Zac Posen Spring 2011

Silhouettes are pure Posen: feminine and form-fitting with a splash of pin-up girl. Standout pieces are a black feather-embroidered cocktail dress, a red one-shoulder jumpsuit and a red and black printed gown with sheer inserts worn by Isabeli Fontana. There is nothing subtle about this collection: the Posen woman is an unabashed sex kitten who believes that grandiose is the only way to go in terms of style.

The function of the pieces is always what is of utmost importance in my opinion and indeed we will all have to be on strict workout regimens to wear Posen’s clothes, not to mention eating and drinking very little wherever our destination might be. Regardless, the pieces are bold and fearless and what woman doesn’t want to be that?

Visit www.zacposen.com for more information and see more looks from the Spring 2011 collection below.

Anna Dello Russo Designs T-Shirts

adr3 Anna Dello Russo Designs T Shirts

adr2 295x300 Anna Dello Russo Designs T Shirts

Anna Dello Russo is an international style icon. She has been making her mark in the fashion industry for decades as a fashion editor at Vogue Italia, an editor at L’Uomo Vogue and now fashion director for Vogue Nippon.

Dello Russo and international fashion site YOOX collaborated on a series of ten t-shirts to celebrate YOOX’s tenth anniversary. The shirts feature images of some of Dello Russo’s most famed looks, though ten images barely scratches the surface of her work.

I ordered the print to the left. Who could forget her in that amazing Dolce & Gabbana dress from SS09?

If you love fashion, run to YOOX and buy one. I have a feeling they won’t be around for long.
