Throwing on a t-shirt may seem like a slacker’s approach to style, but the brand Rotter and Friends make this comfy staple into a fashion statement. Created by New York-based illustrator Jess Rotter, these graphic tees are anything but ordinary, and are adorned with whimsically intricate drawings of iconic rockers from the 60s and 70s. This is only fitting, since Jess says that her line uses music as its inspiration – she is even a rock band promoter by day!
Since the brand’s birth, Rotter’s popularity has grown tremendously. Rotter was recently selected for a prestigious spot for the Gap PRODUCT(RED) Artist Edition T-Shirt Collection, to help eliminate AIDS in Africa.
The Rotter and Friends Spring 2009 collection features a fresh crop of t-shirts available in men’s and women’s styles, in an assortment of colors. The shirts fit like a dream, and fans and supporters of the brand include Natalie Portman, Jakob Dylan, and Swedish band Dungen (Gustav Ejstes of Dungen is the eye candy you see modeling the tees on the site!)
We promise if you wear a Rotter and Friends t-shirt to your next indie concert, you will earn major street cred. T-totally.
