#Throwback!!! Fash-O-Ween Is Upon Us, Drag-it-up as your favorite Icon…Let’s Go!

Leave the plastic boots and corsets at home and forget tacky, store bought Halloween costumes this year. We get it, you just added “sexy” in front of your favorite animal or occupation or weekend hobby. Clever. How about showing a little class, as well as fashion sense, this time? This Halloween is Fash-o-ween. Many of today’s fashion industry icons are larger than life characters, instantly recognizable thanks to their unique personal style. So why not imitate your favorite fashion mogul and maybe pick up a few new pieces to add to your wardrobe after, you know, tricking or treating?

Anna Wintour 632x632 #Throwback!!! Fash O Ween Is Upon Us, Drag it up as your favorite Icon...Lets Go!

Oh Anna. Anna, Anna. How one person takes a look and makes it work for decades, I do not know. Leave it to the editor of Vogue to find a style that transcends time and trend. The bobbed haircut, large glasses and working-girl dress is instantly recognizable all by themselves. Add a large fur coat and some classic pumps and you’re ready for the front for and Alexander Wang.

Karl Lagerfeld 632x632 #Throwback!!! Fash O Ween Is Upon Us, Drag it up as your favorite Icon...Lets Go!

You’d be hard pressed to find a photo of Karl Lagerfeld wearing much color. Or without a custom, high collared white shit. Because of this signature look, Mr. Lagerfeld is another perfect Halloween copycat option. It’s the perfect get-up for the fashion-conscious male,  or the boyfriend being reluctantly dragged to a couples party. Best thing here is most of the pieces the majority of men already own; black tuxedo jacket and pants, white collared shirt (sorry, Karl’s or made special for him), dress shoes. Grab some silver chains and giant pendants and not even Coco could spot the difference.

donatella 632x632 #Throwback!!! Fash O Ween Is Upon Us, Drag it up as your favorite Icon...Lets Go!

If you’d rather glam up than be a slutty cat for Halloween, grab some self tanner and dress up as Donatella Versace. Her look is so synonymous with her brand that even her model’s look like her. Choose a bright colored dress (an homage to both Donatella’s personal style and Versace’s) and drip yourself in diamonds. If you don’t want to bleach the life out of your hair, there’s always wigs.  Just stay out of the tanning bed. Get the look without the damage.

Betsy Johnson 632x632 #Throwback!!! Fash O Ween Is Upon Us, Drag it up as your favorite Icon...Lets Go!Now if you really want to have fun and get noticed, while still showing your fashion sense, get colorful and dress as Betsey Johnson. Pairing fun, bright fabrics and prints is quintessential Betsey, and who doesn’t want to look like they’re always down for a good time? You can wear heels or flats, just make sure they’re bold. Throw on a tulle skirt and weave in a few dozen braids into your hair at the roots. Feel free to cartwheel down the runway, er, sidewalk.

ANTM #Throwback!!! Fash O Ween Is Upon Us, Drag it up as your favorite Icon...Lets Go!

If you’re going out with a group this halloween, insist on going as the crew from America’s Next Top Model. You would, of course, be Tyra, since you’re the undisputed leader of the pack. You can really pick any hair style of hers to imitate, or find your favorite look in wig form (since that IS what Tyra does, after all). Your hot guy friend with the strangely large pecs can be Jay, just get a nice pair of dark wash jeans and an tight gothic t-shirt. And unless he already has silver hair, which, you know, totally happens in nature, grab a can of sprayable hair color and make his head sparkle. Now Andre Leon Tally is a double whammy. He can run along side Anna Wintour for a Vogue couples costume, or be part of the ANTM crew. Long, black coat or poncho required, as well as a large fur hat, and a fun accessory like a cane. Make that a bejeweled cane. If your group is bigger than three, dress another guy friend up in heels and he can go as Miss Jay, or starve a few of your girlfriends for a few days and they can be your Top Model hopefuls. You can let them have some candy, but only if they nail their underwater evening gown shoot for sponsor Nokia.

#Throwback! On Campus: ‘Swag it’ Out with Sweats

Sweats with Swag #Throwback! On Campus: Swag it Out with Sweats

It’s 7:30 on a Monday morning. Awakened by your cell phone’s alarm, a sound that has conditioned you since week two of second semester, you jump out of bed crippled with anxiety. Scrambling to get all of your belongings together for class, you reach straight for the neon Victoria’s Secret sweats and throw your hair into a bun. More concerned about making it to class on time than looking fashion forward, you’re out the door and ready to go.

Does this pattern sound familiar? Of course it does. Having lived on a college campus, I’ve witnessed both myself and my peers fall victim to this vicious cycle. I mean, who’s thinking skinny jeans at the crack of dawn? Certainly not me. While your appearance may be the last thing on your mind the morning after a late night study/romp session, there are ways to seep your street style swag AND still be comfy.

While some of you may be a bit reluctant to splurge on loungewear, it’s an investment you want to look into. High-end lounge apparel brings more opportunity to the wearer to create a comfortable, high fashion outfit without looking sloppy. Sweats from stores like Victoria’s Secret are not only cliché and turn you into a walking billboard, but also limit the possibilities of the other elements in your outfit, as the sweats are just too bright and busy.

Nailing the sweat pants look is very simple if you can keep a couple of things in mind. Here’s a list of rules that will allow you to keep the swag in your sweats.

  1. Go for neutrals. Bright tones are too distracting and defeat the purpose of dressing down.
  2. Pair your sweats with cute shoes. Instead of plummeting your outfit deeper into the lazy spiral by throwing on Uggs or moccasins, try a pair of low-heel booties. They’re comfortable, but won’t make you look like you just rolled out of bed.
  3. Texture. Texture. Texture. Sweats can be found in various different kinds of fabrics. Try out a knitted pair to mix things up and make your outfit more interesting.
  4. Accessories seal the deal. We all know that accessories have the potential to transform a look. Adding a chic necklace to a simple outfit   can make you go from blasé to Bensoni in a matter of seconds.

Label Love: Loubis Gotta Thing for Digi-Luxe iPad Cases, Just in Time for S/S 2013

Christian Louboutin ipad cris Label Love: Loubis Gotta Thing for Digi Luxe iPad Cases, Just in Time for S/S 2013 iPads used to be cool. They were new, they were expensive—they were every tech-obsessed fashionista’s digi-dream. But nowadays, with version number 8,937 out, iPad’s are so passé. Everyone has one, and if you don’t, you don’t matter. The truth is, if you want to step up your iPad game and set yours apart from everyone else’s, you've gotta pimp it out. And by pimp it out, I mean you gotta put a case on it. If you like it then you gotta put a case on it (to the tune of Beyoncé, duh).

Anyways, Christian Louboutin, purveyor of our favorite red-soled, beautifully crafted shoes, has come out with some awesome iPad cases for their Spring/Summer 2013 collection. And while their iPad cases aren’t red soled, they are beautifully crafted. Anyone can go to China Town and grab a knockoff Gucci or Louis Vuitton case for their iPad, but if you really want to set yourself apart, then these are for you. Fashioned out of supple leathers, luxurious pony, or soft fabric, and finished with studs and a wrist strap, this is the ultimate way to say, “Up the ante, I’m richer that your socialite mother.

We personally love the blue, green, leopard, and tartan print, but they’re obviously all nice enough to be seen with in public. As was previously noted, pimping out your tablet is definitely a necessity, but with these iPad cases you can luxify them as well. The combination of fabric slash leather with the studs give these a high-class with an edge feel that we are very in to. And for between $695 and $895, it’s a fairly reasonable way to make everyone in your office (and just your life in general) want to rip off your style…luckily enough for this design team, Loubie's got a kick-ass legal team to chase them down…
