HBO Golden Globes Luxury Suite Jay Alexander Luxury Lounge with @HBO, @MissJ Alexander, @JamieLSigler + @LOrealParisUSA
HBO’s 11th Annual Luxury Lounge was held on Sunday, January 13th in Los Angeles in honor of the 70th Annual Golden Globes. To prepare for the night’s festivities, Hollywood’s elite were pampered from head to toe by the experts at the HBO Luxury Lounge. Featured brands included L’Oréal Paris, Motorola, Pandora, Nautica, Michael Antonio, Staples, Sophia Fiori, Boiron, TiVo, and Eddia Beverly Hills.

For those looking for some jewelry, there were customized Pandora charm bracelets available. Michael Antonio’s completely vegan and eco-friendly shoes were favorites of Lisa and Pandora Vanderpump of “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.” Braver guests chose to leave their cell phones with the experts and have them set up with Motorola’s S11-FLEX HD wireless headset. Nothing to hide here!

Other guest, like “Dancing with the Stars” Karina Smirnoff and Samantha Harris chose to get their beauty on (like these ladies need any help). Products used by the L’Oréal Paris Beauty Suite included Telescopic Shocking Extensions Mascara, Colour Riche Colour Caresse Shine Stain and Revitalift Miracle Blur Instant Skin Smoother Finishing Cream. These lucky guests even got to have their hair and make up done and indulge in luxurious manicures and pedicures. Sounds like a great way to get ready for a night of award shows and partying.

And what’s a party without an outfit change? Partygoers like Karina Smirnoff from “Dancing with the Stars” decided to pick up some duds from Nautica. The gentlemen who wanted to spruce up their wardrobe could pick up some silk ties from Eddia Beverly Hills. J. Alexander from “America’s Next Top Model” decided to forgoe the ties, though, and instead tried on some serious bling at Sophia Fiori. And for those interested in preparing for the night from the inside, like Jamie-Lynn Sigler, there were Eco Jute Totes from Boiron filled with homeopathic medicines.

Other stars who attended the event included J. Alexander from “America’s Next Top Model,” Bill Maher from “Real time with Bill Maher,” Lauren Bowles from “True Blood,” and Jeff Garlin from “Curb Your Enthusiasm.”

And more good news from L’Oréal Paris: they recently announced that Billy “Billy B.” Brasfield is has come on board as one of their consulting makeup artists. Billy B. has made up the faces of some of Hollywood’s biggest stars, such as Beyoncé, Britney Spears, and Lady Gaga. In addition, he has worked the red carpet for the Academy Awards, Emmys, Grammys, and Cannes Film Festival. Billy B. will lend his hand to product development, consumer education and creating trendsetting makeup looks. Hey, anyone who can make Britney Spears look good seems like the kind of guy I want developing my makeup products.

Wowzers Beauty & Fashion, #GoldenGlobeStyle

Kerry Washington Lancome Wowzers Beauty & Fashion, #GoldenGlobeStyleWe’re kind of obsessed with Kerry Washington. Just kind of. Everything she wears is phenomenal, but what about her beauty routine? Her skin is always flawless, her hair always in place, and her make up always complements her outfits perfectly. At Sunday’s Golden Globes, held at the Beverly Hilton in Los Angeles, Washington wore a beautiful Miu Miu sheer dress. Sequins up and down the dress accented the nude colored ensemble. She accessorized with nude pumps, a nude minaudière, and a diamond bracelet and ring. John Freida star hairstylist Marcus Francis styled her textured hair straight and sleek using Frizz-Ease 3-Day Straight Semi-Permanent Styling Spray ($9.99, drugstores) and Frizz-Ease Secret Weapon Flawless Finishing Crème ($5.99, drugstores). Want the look? Comb the Styling Spray through wet hair, blow dry straight, flat iron section by section, and finish with the finishing crème. Voila! And did we mention her new subtle blond highlights? We’re obsessed and totally digging the dimension.

Her makeup artist for the event, Carola Gonzalez, wanted to complement Kerry’s look with a bold eye and muted lip. Here’s how she achieved the look:

Face: Gonzalez used Lancôme Teint Idole Ultra 24H Foundation in Suede N 450 ($44, Sephora) all over her face. This foundation stays put for 24 hours (no need for touchups—a must on the red carpet), and has a velvety smooth finish. She highlighted her cheeks with Lancôme Blush in Pommettes D’Amour ($49, Nordstrom).

Eyes: Gonzalez added a splash of color to Washington’s eyes with Lancôme Color Design Infinité 24H Eye Shadow in Evermore Lilac ($24.50, Macy’s). She then added dimension with Lancôme Color Design Eye Shadow in Mochaccino ($19, Sephora). Lastly, she accented with Lancôme Artliner in Smoke ($30, Sephora) and Lancôme Hypnôse Star Mascara ($28, Sephora).

Lips: Gonzalez finished the look with a muted lip, using Giorgio Armani Lip Maestro in 500 Blush ($32, Barney’s New York).
Nina Dobrev Unite Wowzers Beauty & Fashion, #GoldenGlobeStyleNina Dobrev looked sweet and feminine at the InStyle Golden Globe Party, dazzling onlookers in Oscar de la Renta, Oroton and Jimmy Choo. Her tea-length light blue gown, from the designers Spring 2013 runway, featured flower cutouts and was absolutely gorgeous. And talk about arm candy–she carried beautiful Oroton Satin Zip Top Clutch in Caribbean Waters. And what better way to complement the 24-year-old Vampire Diaries actress’ look than with a classic bun—with a modern twist, that is. Dobrev’s hairstylist, Riawna Capri, used UNITE Hair Care products to create the look, which she described as, “Sweet and polished with a unique twist.” Nina is a classic brunette, with luscious and long locks that she usually wears cascading down her shoulders in curls. It’s so refreshing to see her hair pulled up in such a chic new take on a classic ‘do. Here’s how to achieve the look yourself:

To start, Capri washed Dobrev’s hair using U LUXURY shampoo and conditioner, which are both infused with crushed pearl, Hawaiian white honey and Argan oil. To detangle and protect, she used UNITE 7SECONDS Conditioner. Next, to smooth the hair she blew it dry with the UNITE 9-Row Denman Brush. Then, with her head flipped over, Capri braided Nina’s hair from the nape of her neck to the crown of her head. The rest of the hair was pulled up into a classic ponytail. UNITE BEACH DAY Spray was spritzed through the ponytail for texture, and Capri then styled it into a chic bun. The final touch was UNITE GO356 Hairspray for hold and UNITE SHINA-Mist for shine.

We’re absolutely in love with the hair! It’s so reminiscent of Carrie Bradshaw’s take on the classic bun, which she rocked all the time, but with a modern and young twist. And the best part is you can totally do this look at home. You might want to enlist the help of a friend for the braid, but the rest is a piece of cake.
Julie Bowen Colorescience Wowzers Beauty & Fashion, #GoldenGlobeStyleJulie Bowen looked smoking hot on the red carpet. The beautiful blond always seems to get it right when it comes to both fashion and beauty. You’ll never see her tresses looking brassy—Bowen seems to have found the key to finding the perfect balance between an ashy and brilliant blond that never looks orange or dull. The Modern Family star walked the red carpet in a beautiful one shoulder turquoise Halston gown. She complemented it with a dark clutch and shoes, as well as drop earring and layers of bangles. Talk about an arm party.

Her makeup was effortlessly flawless. Makeup artist to the stars, Heather Currie, gave Bowen a bronzed collection and a dramatic smoky eye using products from Colorescience. Want to achieve the look? Here’s how:

Currie started off using Colorescience Skin Bronzing Face Primer SPF 20 to add a bronzed glow to Bowen’s skin. She then applied Colorescience Sheer Crème Foundation, finishing her face with a pressed mineral powder to set the foundation. A shimmer bronzer was applied to the cheek bones and pink powder blush was dusted on the apples of her cheeks. To create the smoky eye, Currie blended Colorescience Loose Mineral Eye Colore in Black Matte and Smoke Matte to Bowen’s eyelid, starting at the lashline and smudging upwards with a flat eye shadow brush. Next, she used Colorescience Loose Mineral Eye Colore in Silver Shimmer blended with a teal to fill in the lid. She then accented the brow bone and inner corner of the eye with a white shimmer shadow. The finishing touch for the eyes was undereye concealer, Colorescience Mascara, and a blend of silver and teal shadows along the bottom of the eye. To keep the focus on the eyes, Currie applied nude lip liner all over Bowen’s lips, followed by pink gloss.

The end result? Ravishing. You go, Julie Bowen, you sexy mama.

The Golden Ones: Jennifer Lopez, Kate Hudson, Taylor Swift, Jessica Alba, Jennifer Lawrence

Golden Globes 2013 The Golden Ones: Jennifer Lopez, Kate Hudson, Taylor Swift, Jessica Alba, Jennifer Lawrence

Hollywood’s brightest were out in full force to kickoff red carpet season at the Golden Globes in Los Angeles on Sunday. The stars dazzled their way down the red carpet in a sea of chiffon, silk, and sequins. Although the awards are important, the fashion is what we really tune in for, and this year was not a disappointment. Even though we’d love to chat for hours about all the dresses, that’s kind of impossible (in case you haven’t noticed, we like to talk a lot). Sadly, we don’t have time for that, so we’ve picked our favorites to share with you.

Jennifer Lopez looked absolutely amazing in a stunning Zuhair Murad number. The gown was nude with ivory lace, and she complemented it with diamond earrings and long, curly tresses swept over to the side. Are we the only ones who agree that Jennifer keeps getting better with age?

Kate Hudson donned a black Alexander McQueen gown. The keyhole neckline, which was complemented by gold accents around the neckline and waistline, showed off some major cleavage. She kept the hair and accessories sleek and simple.

Taylor Swift rocked a very sexy Donna Karan gown. The deep plum satin hugged her curves and the low back was a hidden surprise. With her swept up hair, she looked older than 23. But in a good way. The singer, who was up for the best original song award (which she lost to Adele), had to endure some jabs from hosts Tina Fey and Amy Poehler. Hey, even if she does change her boyfriend like we change our shoes, at least she looks good doing it.

Jennifer Lawrence’s red Dior Haute Couture gown, complete with a slim metallic belt around the waist, was very glamorous and chic in a 50’s kind of way. The best actress in a comedy winner had her brown locks up and accessorized with drop earrings and a silver minaudière. The strapless gown looked amazing on the Dior spokeswoman.

Jessica Alba stunned in a coral Oscar de la Renta gown. The actress looked like a knockout, complementing the look with a glamorous diamond necklace, curly hair, a tangerine clutch and peachy lips.

After browsing the web I recently discovered, Le Fashion Truck, a mobile boutique and fashionable store on wheels. They set up shop in various locations throughout Los Angeles and it’s kind of like a Pop-Up Shop on the go. They feature clothing and accessories for the woman all around LA and their assortment includes local designers, handmade jewelry and handbags. It even has a dressing room, how innovative, right!

We’ve all thought of doing something cool, like bringing the closet to our doorstep, but these ladies have mastered the art of it. This uber fun pink mobile store was created by Stacey Steffe and Jeanine Romo. They met at a Los Angeles arts and crafts market and collaborated their personal businesses which grew into this fun merchandise paradise. We are super excited to hear about these fashionable entrepreneurs, and hope all of the Cali Girls catch them on the fly. For more information visit: Le Fashion Truck
