Hunter Boots have become the go-to rain boots, even when it’s not actually raining. The famous “it” wellies have become synonymous with cool and have been spotted on almost every celebrity-from Kate Moss, who famously wore them with barely there shorts and a waistcoat to the Glastonbury festival back in 2005 to Nicole Richie who has been seen with them more than without this past winter.
As of recent, these urban-styled rain-boots have expanded from a classic wellie into a full lifeststyle brand. No longer just a fisherman’s boot, Hunters are now available in a full-range of colors including bubble-gum pink, bright red, and yellow. Hunters also come in a variety of lengths and now boast a model that includes heels and all that jazz.
The original rubber booties recently upped their fashion status when they teamed up with high-end shoe label, Jimmy Choo to collaborate on a special edition rubber boot that looked more luxe than practical. The sophisticated croc-embossed boot was also as expensive as it looked, retailing at $400. Now, the 155-year-old Scottish brand is further building on their success by launching an outerwear line.
According to WWD, Wendy Svarre, chief executive officer of Hunter Boot USA has issued a statement, “”Outerwear was really a natural extension with the DNA of our brand. We are known for the outdoors and high-performance footwear. It just took a while to find the right factories in Asia.”
Hunter Boots USA new collection include a trench with a trendy zip-out red lining, a fur trimmed-hooded white parka and an A-line wool peacoat. The outerwear collection will be released sometime in July. And if their foot-wear line success is indicative of the brand’s staying-power, then we will all be wearing the latest trenches come next fall.
