Gossip Girl…on your wall?

By Zoe

PropArt1New York City based boutique Intermix is rockin’ their next artist collaboration with the Art Production Fund in creating limited edition printed canvas reproductions of Richard Phillips’ original artwork. Phillips’ paintings were featured on the very popular and extremely fashionable TV series Gossip Girl, which is being broadcast on the CW. The paintings were bought and displayed in the Van der Woodesen loft.

Phillips is known for his large-scale  hyper-realistic paintings, emulating the pictorial style of glossy magazines from the 1950s, 1960s and 1970s. The two works profiled here are called “Spectrum” (above) and “Scout” (below).

Both retail for $250 and 100 per cent of the proceeds will go towards supporting Art Production Fund, which according to the press release is a: “non profit organization dedicated to facilitating ambitious projects by contemporary artists, reaching new audiences and expanding public participation and understanding of contemporary art.”

The 30”x36.5” paintings are available for purchase only at the Intermix location at 98 Prince Street. For more info go here.

XOXO.
