#Milly Pre-Fall 2013, Uh Huh #Pink & #Black: You Know What it Is!

Milly Prefall #Milly Pre Fall 2013, Uh Huh #Pink & #Black: You Know What it Is!Even though the temperature keeps plummeting here in New York, fashion showrooms are heating up with pre-fashion week summer and fall collection previews. Last Friday we went to Milly’s 2013 pre-fall press preview at the Milly showroom in the Fashion District.

Shades of black, whites and gray along with designer Michelle Smith’s signature hot pink flair filled the racks. When you think of Milly Pre-Fall 2013, think smart and sexy. The collection targets 20-something women but can easily flatter those in their 30’s and 40’s. With silhouettes that define and accent a feminine shape, this playful collection can work for day and night.

Milly’s fall line is perfect for going from the office to a bar with your girlfriends or even a date. The collection included tight-fitting pencil skirts crafted out of leather that hit at mid-thigh as well as fuller, shorter skirts made of beautiful hand painted silk. Bold black and white patterns and owl print silk decorate dresses, trousers, and blouses. She also included staples for every woman’s wardrobe, such as leather leggings and her own take on the little black dress. And Smith did not skimp on texture—the collection has some jet black fox fur, chiffon, lace, and even ostrich feathers. And with pieces like a short-sleeved tweed jacket with detachable long leather sleeves, this collection will easily transition you from warm summer days to cooler fall nights. As far as accessories go, makeup bags, shoulder bags, and wallets in bright leathers accented the pre-fall line. There are even iPhone covers complete with black and white prints and glittery gold. Overall, Milly redefines combining youth and luxury with sophistication and modern glamor. We also must mention the Milly Mini collection. Can you say adorable?

Label Love: Loubis Gotta Thing for Digi-Luxe iPad Cases, Just in Time for S/S 2013

Christian Louboutin ipad cris Label Love: Loubis Gotta Thing for Digi Luxe iPad Cases, Just in Time for S/S 2013 iPads used to be cool. They were new, they were expensive—they were every tech-obsessed fashionista’s digi-dream. But nowadays, with version number 8,937 out, iPad’s are so passé. Everyone has one, and if you don’t, you don’t matter. The truth is, if you want to step up your iPad game and set yours apart from everyone else’s, you've gotta pimp it out. And by pimp it out, I mean you gotta put a case on it. If you like it then you gotta put a case on it (to the tune of Beyoncé, duh).

Anyways, Christian Louboutin, purveyor of our favorite red-soled, beautifully crafted shoes, has come out with some awesome iPad cases for their Spring/Summer 2013 collection. And while their iPad cases aren’t red soled, they are beautifully crafted. Anyone can go to China Town and grab a knockoff Gucci or Louis Vuitton case for their iPad, but if you really want to set yourself apart, then these are for you. Fashioned out of supple leathers, luxurious pony, or soft fabric, and finished with studs and a wrist strap, this is the ultimate way to say, “Up the ante, I’m richer that your socialite mother.

We personally love the blue, green, leopard, and tartan print, but they’re obviously all nice enough to be seen with in public. As was previously noted, pimping out your tablet is definitely a necessity, but with these iPad cases you can luxify them as well. The combination of fabric slash leather with the studs give these a high-class with an edge feel that we are very in to. And for between $695 and $895, it’s a fairly reasonable way to make everyone in your office (and just your life in general) want to rip off your style…luckily enough for this design team, Loubie's got a kick-ass legal team to chase them down…

Style Stalking: Juxtaposed Style, Stella McCartney VS. Karen Millen

Gemma Arterton British Fashion Awards Style Stalking: Juxtaposed Style, Stella McCartney VS. Karen Millen
To say collections are similar is to describe fashion, no? We’re all trend whores and style snobs at the end of the day anyway. If you can only wear it two seasons, you are pushing fashion…if it transcends the time as a staple you are strictly stylish. But who cares anyway?

Thanks to the hipsters, anything new will certainly do! Better late than never, we’re here to announce that though Gemma Arterton wore Stella McCartney to the British Fashion Awards, Karen Millen seems to think her stitching team does it better, and quite frankly, we agree. Check out the juxtaposition: Feel free to eyeball the disparities…we certainly don’t have time to!

Kanupriya Emergent Design: Kanupriya | Black, Bold & Stunning

Black and gold tones shine this autumn with pieces from beautiful jewelry collection by KANUPRIYA- an assemblage of contemporary accessories with a colorful vintage touch.

Kanapriya Khurana has a background in HR but her passion for culture, art and beautiful things led her into this path of design…whichmade her dreams come true in the debut of her jewelry collection in 2010. The first collection was recently followed this season by  autumn winter 2012.

Kanapriya’s inspiration for the collection is her mom, who she defines as a sophisticated powerful woman. The collection offers a wide diversity of possibilities for styling both evening-wear and updating otherwise lackluster daily outfits on-the-go. Shining pearls elegantly applied on earrings, rings and bracelets in combination with different metals and wood give the pieces a spectacular contrast. They additionally represent a contrast from strong oversized shapes to small elegantly detailed pieces.

The earrings with a combination of delicate small black and clear pearls are unique and modern expressing classic jewelry design. Kanapriya’s designs are appealing contemporary pieces with bohemian references and exceptionally striking in  saturate world full of baubles. Label Love: Coclico, Eco-Friendly Shoes for Fashion Forward Tree Huggers

Coclico Shoes Label Love: Coclico, Eco Friendly Shoes for Fashion Forward Tree Huggers

Ooh la la – the French really know how to make us fashionista shoe-hoards squeal with delight! Coclico, created by a fourth generation French shoemaker, announced the reopening of the shoe boutique’s flagship in New York City (275 Mott Street) and the much anticipated arrival of their Fall ‘12 collection. The brand unveiled their new autumn assortment and chic space with cocktails, music and hi-heels. The line also includes mouthwatering flats, wedges, demi-wedges, clogs and booties. “Coclico finds beauty in the understated, rugged and intentionally simple.” The brand’s logo of the poppy (“coquelicot” in French) illustrates the company’s savvy designing proficiency – “a simple, elegant, at once hardy, but delicate flower.”

Coclico’s Fall ’12 collection has sent our fashion radar into a complete tizzy. The beautiful, straightforward designs make our heart skip a beat, especially because each style doesn’t come with extra texture or material. The clean lines of each stitch and the smooth-as-cognac color palette of coal, rust, cobalt, plum and honey give Coclico’s newest collection an understated, couture movement that copy-cats will be eyeing for many fashion seasons to come. Of course, our first look was at what Coclico would do with the endurance of the boot and bootie trend. The French shoe maven fulfilled our wildest dreams with their flattering rugged look – we were not disappointed with the Winnie, the Salinger, the Niko, the Adele or the Dakota. And, let’s not forget the Hutton wedge with a full cork wedge covered in leather and the Killian style with a wood demi-wedge that both offer lightness of movement and flexible soles for maximum comfort. When our chic ensembles require to be taken up a notch, we couldn’t keep our hands off the Coclico Ovid and Alia heels in soft, cascading suede. Being a fashion die-hard can be tough, so we are always tickled pink when we come across do-gooders and Coclico is hot on our confidential list. The brand’s shoes are made in accredited tanneries with an emphasis on eco-friendly materials. For more info visit:  http://www.Coclico.com
