#Milly Pre-Fall 2013, Uh Huh #Pink & #Black: You Know What it Is!

Milly Prefall #Milly Pre Fall 2013, Uh Huh #Pink & #Black: You Know What it Is!Even though the temperature keeps plummeting here in New York, fashion showrooms are heating up with pre-fashion week summer and fall collection previews. Last Friday we went to Milly’s 2013 pre-fall press preview at the Milly showroom in the Fashion District.

Shades of black, whites and gray along with designer Michelle Smith’s signature hot pink flair filled the racks. When you think of Milly Pre-Fall 2013, think smart and sexy. The collection targets 20-something women but can easily flatter those in their 30’s and 40’s. With silhouettes that define and accent a feminine shape, this playful collection can work for day and night.

Milly’s fall line is perfect for going from the office to a bar with your girlfriends or even a date. The collection included tight-fitting pencil skirts crafted out of leather that hit at mid-thigh as well as fuller, shorter skirts made of beautiful hand painted silk. Bold black and white patterns and owl print silk decorate dresses, trousers, and blouses. She also included staples for every woman’s wardrobe, such as leather leggings and her own take on the little black dress. And Smith did not skimp on texture—the collection has some jet black fox fur, chiffon, lace, and even ostrich feathers. And with pieces like a short-sleeved tweed jacket with detachable long leather sleeves, this collection will easily transition you from warm summer days to cooler fall nights. As far as accessories go, makeup bags, shoulder bags, and wallets in bright leathers accented the pre-fall line. There are even iPhone covers complete with black and white prints and glittery gold. Overall, Milly redefines combining youth and luxury with sophistication and modern glamor. We also must mention the Milly Mini collection. Can you say adorable?

Rock Hard Van Diesel Undies | Are You Ready For This?

Diesel Utilitarian Rock Hard Van Diesel Undies | Are You Ready For This?

With Valentines Day around the corner (great), some of you might feel the need to invest in some lingerie for the occasion. While most normal people would go for something flirty yet still trashy, adorned intimates from Victoria’s Secret. This year, forget the super padded push-up bra that would make you the envy of every fourteen year old girl. They serve as great bullet proofed boobie vests, but if your date isn’t armed, padded is so insecure these days. Grab your cupcake tities and red racy lacies, and throw caution to the wind.

This year, maybe you want lingerie that’s a little more non-traditional and hard-core to spice up the night. Well, lucky you, the geniuses at Diesel have just the right thing for you. The on-sale women’s underwear section of Diesel’s website features a few pieces that are see through, minus the sexy. It’s a recession, and Diesel redefines hard and struggling, with cotton molded bras and high-wasted panties. This could be the hit or miss spot for all you non-traditional lingerie lovers. I mean S&M meets stitches and needles. Mid-makeout, you may tear off your clothes, but these Diesels will have to be physically removed: you can have your date put them on and show you function over fashion, fucking over fun! You can wow your honey with buttons and cotton in this androgeneous metro-sexual van-desiel, you the man, I the woman underwear instead.

Yes, instead. If you have some work to do: see-through long-johnesque masculofemme undies are the new rage. And why even go to sleep when you can stay up all night and remodel the house, did I miss a spot? Pass the paint, in a silky nightie with weird logo straps at the top. Way to hold up your tits and cover your legs in thick cotton long johns or boxers, break the floor sans wall in your favorite new babies room, if you ever pro-create. Ok, ok…because your boyfriend, or girlfriend will be totally turned off.

No sex tonight, moment of silence to celebrate durable, and generally reasonably priced construction underwear. In fact, I would say the Diesel underwear section is a great place to go buy some well made, utilitarian pieces, if you are looking for real value. High-waisted briefs with sheer side paneling, buttons up and down both sides of the front panel like a sailor’s uniform, sail away, sail away. Some kind of weird garter type thing going horizontally across the back? Did you see it? I saw it? Sounds like a winner. These would be perfect for that time of of month. Aside from being ugly, there's a brightside: if you are looking for something inexpensive, tight stitching and durable for the naked, around the house duties, grab a drill. If you are feeling a little freaky, put these on to diffuse any pent-up sexual energy and clear your mind, and finally get some around-the-house work done. Period.

Alex Mattson debuts his Autumn/Winter 2013 collection with a custom soundtrack

Alex Mattson and Zebra Katz Red Bull Alex Mattson debuts his Autumn/Winter 2013 collection with a custom soundtrack When there’s no women’s fashion to gawk at, the next best thing is menswear. Because what’s better than looking at a well-dressed, good-looking man and wishing your boyfriend would put just a little bit more effort into his outfits? Luckily, Alex Mattson has paired with Red Bull Catwalk Studios and Zebra Katz to present not only some fantastic clothing, but some amazing music as well.

Red Bull Catwalk Studios has been bringing together designers and music artists since 2011, giving the designers the opportunity to showcase their clothing to a one-of-a-kind soundtrack. And Zebra Katz’s track, “Pulla Stunt” featuring Reddd Foxxx, with its futuristic sound, is the perfect compliment to Mattson’s new collection. The collection, along with the track and a film to boot, all debuted on January 8 at the London Film Museum as part of the London Collections: Men. The film is a music video (duh), featuring Zebra Katz’s track and some of Mattson’s designs. Obviously.

This is Mattson’s second live show, having graduated from the Royal College of Art with a degree in menswear in 2009. He has been collaborating with Red Bull since last year, when he presented his Spring/Summer 2012 collection with their support. Inspired by street style and sci-fi, Mattson’s collections have a futuristic look with a gangster-esque quality. And now, they have the perfect soundtrack to boot.

Brace Yourself!

Label Love: Coclico, Eco-Friendly Shoes for Fashion Forward Tree Huggers

Coclico Shoes Label Love: Coclico, Eco Friendly Shoes for Fashion Forward Tree Huggers

Ooh la la – the French really know how to make us fashionista shoe-hoards squeal with delight! Coclico, created by a fourth generation French shoemaker, announced the reopening of the shoe boutique’s flagship in New York City (275 Mott Street) and the much anticipated arrival of their Fall ‘12 collection. The brand unveiled their new autumn assortment and chic space with cocktails, music and hi-heels. The line also includes mouthwatering flats, wedges, demi-wedges, clogs and booties. “Coclico finds beauty in the understated, rugged and intentionally simple.” The brand’s logo of the poppy (“coquelicot” in French) illustrates the company’s savvy designing proficiency – “a simple, elegant, at once hardy, but delicate flower.”

Coclico’s Fall ’12 collection has sent our fashion radar into a complete tizzy. The beautiful, straightforward designs make our heart skip a beat, especially because each style doesn’t come with extra texture or material. The clean lines of each stitch and the smooth-as-cognac color palette of coal, rust, cobalt, plum and honey give Coclico’s newest collection an understated, couture movement that copy-cats will be eyeing for many fashion seasons to come. Of course, our first look was at what Coclico would do with the endurance of the boot and bootie trend. The French shoe maven fulfilled our wildest dreams with their flattering rugged look – we were not disappointed with the Winnie, the Salinger, the Niko, the Adele or the Dakota. And, let’s not forget the Hutton wedge with a full cork wedge covered in leather and the Killian style with a wood demi-wedge that both offer lightness of movement and flexible soles for maximum comfort. When our chic ensembles require to be taken up a notch, we couldn’t keep our hands off the Coclico Ovid and Alia heels in soft, cascading suede. Being a fashion die-hard can be tough, so we are always tickled pink when we come across do-gooders and Coclico is hot on our confidential list. The brand’s shoes are made in accredited tanneries with an emphasis on eco-friendly materials. For more info visit:  http://www.Coclico.com
