Burberry Prorsum Pre-Fall 2010

By Faith

11m bpFor Pre-Fall 2010, Christopher Bailey is taking Burberry Prorsum back to its roots with a strong showing in outerwear and an overall militaristic feeling. The classic trench silhouette is shown in a multitude of textures from wool to fur and Bailey is doing what he does best, creating a perfect juxtaposition of menswear with feminine silhouettes.

Though militaristic at the core, the collection is still supremely feminine with every piece being tailored to a woman’s every curve. Outerwear dominates the collection in cropped, over-the-top furs like the one seen to the left as well as cropped bombers lined in shearling and so much more. The classic trench silhouette takes on a whole new meaning in wool and even with embroidered detailing. Dresses are shown with plunging necklines and are all figure-fitting with ruching and lace adding that feminine feel to the collection.

The palette of the collection is completely fall with rich olive tones prevailing as well as navy, burgundy, and black. Purple makes an appearance as well as winter white.

Burberry Prorsum’s Pre-Fall 2010 Collection is full of wardrobe staples for a woman who knows a tailored fit is the best fit. More highlights from the collection below (Images courtesy of Style.com).
