Ava Maria is a new boutique nestled in the heart of Soho. Charming in every way, from its elegantly understated décor, to the fashion conscious women who work there, I couldn’t help but think this is a touch of “Old Soho.” Before the Banana’s and Gaps and the super mass marketer Forever 21 took over Broadway, Soho was the epicenter of New York’s art and culture scene. A store as original as the cobble stone street it stands on, Ava Maria is a unique concept in shopping and in style and is bringing brilliance back to the neighborhood.
The store comes off as a well-curated closet. Classic pieces from your favorite designers such a Diane Von Furstenberg and Lanvin rub elbows with on trend pieces from new and emerging designers like DASGUPTA.
The mix of designers would be appealing enough for most. Perhaps the real excitement lies in the fact that the designer pieces are a significant reduction off their suggested retail price. The pieces are from the previous season and in tiptop shape, worth much more than their reduced price tag and waiting for you to take them home.
